Changing Sleep Settings on Mac

Guide to changing MacBook sleep settings

1. Click the  at the top left of your screen and click System Preferences

2. When the System Preferences window opens click Energy Saver

3. When the Energy Saver window opens click Battery and slide the meter to the desired time you want your MacBook computer and display to sleep. We recommend 1 hour for both if you are using your MacBook for classroom presentations and instruction. Make sure to Uncheck “Put hard disks to sleep when possible” and “Enable Power nap while on battery”

4. Click on Power Adapter and perform the same steps you did in step 3. You may close System Preferences when you have completed these steps. Your changes will be saved automatically.

    I would love to change my settings, but it is asking me for an administrators name and password. It will not take my name and password.
